Sushim Das

Sushim Das is a seasoned artist and retired Art Teacher with an illustrious career spanning over 35 years at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (1976–2011). His deep-rooted passion for art has continued to flourish beyond his teaching years, evolving into a vibrant and fulfilling post-retirement practice.

Since retiring, he has actively participated in numerous group exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, and Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru. His work has also been featured in well-known art events including Chitra Santhe and Haat of Art, where he continues to engage with diverse audiences and fellow artists.

Das holds a five-year L.N.M. (Life, Nature, and Mural) Diploma from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata (1975). During his academic years, he was awarded the Bikash Bhattacharjee Award for excellence in portrait oil painting at the college’s Annual Exhibition. In 2003, he further earned national recognition by securing First Prize in the All India Camel Teacher’s Art Competition.

With a strong academic foundation and decades of artistic exploration, Sushim Das brings a refined sensibility and timeless depth to his work, making his art a meaningful addition to any collection.
